About Lawna

Lawna Mackie is a Canadian author who writes stories centered on love—hope for love when it feels out of reach, and the fight to hold onto it when it’s finally found, even against all odds. Whether set in the real world or in fantasy realms, love is always at the heart of her work.

She writes across many genres, including contemporary, suspense, adventure, fantasy, and paranormal romance. A lifelong animal lover, Lawna naturally weaves animals and creatures into every story she writes. Sometimes they are loyal companions, sometimes guides, and sometimes a quiet source of comfort, but there is always an animal presence shaping the journey and reminding her characters—and readers—of connection, loyalty, and trust.

Lawna is also venturing into nonfiction and has begun her first book inspired by her experiences with the wild horses of Alberta’s Eastern Slopes. She lives in Canada, where both nature and imagination continue to fuel her storytelling.
